Community behavioral health conference aims at prioritizing mental health

GRAYSON COUNTY, Tex. (KXII) – The Texoma Behavioral Health Leadership Team of Grayson County hosted their third annual Community Behavioral Health Conference Thursday afternoon.

The conference hosted community members to bring awareness to mental health in Grayson County.

Over 500 people attended the conference, and board member Gail Utter says their goal is to have mental health a top priority in the workforce.

“We’re bringing in 35 community leaders together from all disciplines to talk about mental health. We’re beginning to see a lot of movement there and a lot better solutions, and more effective communication overall,” said Utter.

The event hosted professionals in health care, social workers, educators and law enforcement among other groups.
